NEW YORK (AP) ? Johan Santana says his surgically repaired left shoulder feels fine a day after he threw a career-high 134 pitches to finish off the first no-hitter in New York Mets' history.
Manager Terry Collins says he was conflicted about letting Santana pitch for so long against St. Louis. He said the Mets would wait a bit to see whether Santana will be pushed back a day or two before his next start.
Collins says left fielder Mike Baxter is undergoing tests Saturday after crashing into the wall while making a catch in the seventh inning that preserved Santana's gem.
Baxter left the game with a shoulder injury. Collins says it's likely Baxter will be checked to see if he also has a concussion.
