Nancy Nevins D?Anjou died April 5, 2012 at 83 in Greenwich, Connecticut after a long illness.
Nancy grew up in Montclair, NJ. She was the daughter of Theodore Clare Nevins and Audrey Glasson Nevins.
She graduated from The Kimberly School of Montclair, NJ and progressed to receive her Bachelor?s Degree from Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. She then took her Master?s Degree in Education in at UC Davis California.
Her interest in special education led to the founding of Beaver Pond Learning, a pioneer in the field of learning tools and games used by teachers and children alike.
Nancy was a long time resident of Rowayton and spent her lifetime of summers in Nantucket, Massachusetts.
Nancy was an active member of the League of Women Voters.
She was a great supporter and lover of animals, children and gardens.
She is preceded in death by her husband William D?Anjou and her brother Theodore C Nevins, Jr.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews Audrey, Martha, Theodore and William Nevins.
Donations may be made in her memory to the Hospice of Connecticut, 100 Double Beach Road Branford, CT 06405, www.hospice.com.
